I came into the program the first time in 1980 a spoiled entitled little brat - each year my perception came just a little more clear. In 2003 I finally surrendered - I was 38 and the grand total of all my great wisdom had ended me up as a spoiled entitled little brat in jail again after years of homelessness. I began to realize - I was not as well as I thought I was - and that my attitude and perception was seriously warped. What good treatment will do is tell you the truth and have you commit long enough to make changes. They will introduce you to a program and guide you as you find the right sponsor and find the meetings you fit in. Develop a routine with service commitments and so much more. I kept putting a band aid on a gaping wound - It takes time to adjust a lifetime of warped perception and attitudes. ![]() |
