On February 14, 2006 I told the people in the bar I would see them in 9 months. That was the length of the drug court I was on for the last DWI. I had no idea what was in store for me. I still have no idea on what is in store for me, but I'm still sober. Here I am, more than 7 years after entering drug court, 6 and a half years after finishing drug court and I'm still sober. If it can work for me, it can work for anyone. I was in complete denial when entering the drug court program. I didn't even know if I had a problem. This is after 7 PI's and 3 DWI's. Basically all it took was an open mind. Willingness to listen to the possibilities and complete "self-honesty". All I know today, is I am still sober and if I am willing, daily, honest, daily, open-minded, daily, I have a chance. I also know SO CAN YOU!!!
